What a piece of work is a man, how noble in reason, how

infinite in faculties, in form and moving how express and

admirable . . . . and yet,to me, what is this quintessence of dust?

Herndon Monument Climb 2015 best look

This blog, named simply Herndon Monument Climb, has posted images of this event every year since 2008.  The blog has the best, most elegant, intuitive, sensitive images of the year, each year.

The name or names the photographer is not given.  More's the pity.

Some images from the blog 2015 post (many images are cropped, to emphasize the photographer's exceptional eye).

Herndon Monument Climb

The Herndon Monument Climb is the annual ceremony where the plebes (first year academy students) work together to climb the lard-covered monument and replace a "dixie-cup hat" on top with a midshipman hat. This is the official end of the plebe year in which they become "plebes no more!"
